Today we are covering everything there is to know about sea serpents but you will need to prepare actually by visiting another monster the kraken people have been calling this mysterious floating island many things sea turtles mainly but they are in fact krakens luckily these krakens don’t have a taste for Vikings.
You will find these krakens in the middle of the ocean and they look like islands at first but upon jumping on its head you will see abyssal barnacles this will give you chitin this will unlock a sweet knife upgrade the abyssal razor this is one of the highest base damage knives in the game and most importantly an abyssal harpoon that’s right we’re going to wrangle head to head with a sea serpent oh and we’re mining the barnacles when the cracking starts to shake it’s time to go the kraken will start to descend into the depths of the ocean so don’t risk being encumbered.
You can simply just range the serpent down in the ocean and avoid the cracking altogether but the scales will sink to the bottom of the ocean but the meat does float so it depends on your priorities the meat makes one of the best stews in the game at the moment so don’t eat the cooked meat as the stews are so much better.
We have the harpoon it’s time sail out into the ocean keeping an eye on the open blues but also staying somewhat close to the shore as you would need to make a quick dash once you’ve been spotted by a serpent this is much easier with a friend but isn’t impossible solo you probably just end up crashing your ship into the land so whilst the serpent is chasing you you want to throw the harpoon and hit it don’t worry it’s not like a spear and you will still have the harpoon if you miss but it does use a lot of its durability with each use.
The serpent harpooned you want to sail towards the land this is the fun bit the person with the harpoon will want to jump onto land and pull the serpent in once he is on land vikings attack it dies pretty quickly here on death it will drop lots of meat and most importantly scales what an adventure and better yet you will now be able to craft a shield that is almost as good as Valheim black metal.
This is an absolute day and night difference compared to what you could currently craft plus the visual points now you can head back to your camp show off your shiny new serpent shield try and say that quickly you are now the mighty viking that brought down that nasty sea serpent to its knees.
